I approach the video work and treat it as an object. The work is partly in the shape of a large eye and partly simulates a veil covered face with only two eyes left bare in the center.
The outer “bark” is a laborious and delicate texture that imitates lace. A video work of a pair of eyes that open and close alternately is projected from the object, while every time the eyes open, their color changes. And thus symbolically the eyes look through the veil. Through the video, I try to offer the viewer a self reflection, and a dual examination and instead of being the observing subject, it allows the viewer to become the object itself.
